Resurrecting my website

I built this website with Hugo, and it was going well. Then I got sidetracked: publishing from Emacs Org mode, then Bear Blog. I wrote a lot on Bear Blog, but it had too many restrictions. Somewhere along the way, I lost the motivation.

I always wanted to resurrect my website, but I kept putting it off and let raveenkumar.xyz expire. Turn on auto-renew. Always. Otherwise someone else can buy your domain and put it up for sale.

So I bought raveenkumar.com. Better name anyway. Dot com.

It’s 2026, the AI era. Claude and I are best buddies, so we got to work. We fixed one issue after another and settled on the Hugo Bear Blog theme. It looks a lot like Bear Blog, which I’m still fond of.

No more free hosting. I host it myself on a small VPS. Maximum freedom and privacy.

My favourite part: I write a post, commit it and push. That’s it. GitHub Actions does the rest: tests, build, upload.

My posts had 213 tags, most used once. What was I doing? Now there are 7, one per post, and never more than 10.

There’s a Search page now.

I made the decisions. Claude did the typing, the testing and the research. I kept going with follow-up prompts, and it made my life easy: done in one day.

The site isn’t perfect yet, and we’ll see how long I keep it going. But for now:
